As someone who benefits from the privilege that comes with being straight and cis, I am determined to use that privilege to be an ally for those who are still disadvantaged by our culture, and sometimes even by our law. As a feminist and person of faith, my ‘tribes’ have troubling histories with regards to LGBT+ issues and sadly still have a long way to go, but my view is that feminism and my faith actually demand that I stand up for the LGBT+ community (in Chambers and in my personal life) and I’m encouraged to see that many share that view.
